Easter holiday Challenges.
You can do all the challenges if you like or just pick the ones you like best. Make drawings or photos of the results so we can see them when we get back to school.
Plants and growing challenges – our science topic next term is plants and growing. We will be doing more science activities after the holidays but here are some to start you off.
Reading – Class One Jokes
Reading is so important.
Hearing your child read – it is more difficult to access new books at the moment but children develop fluency by reading a text a number of times and there is lots of evidence telling us how important this is.
Abacus bug club – there are lots of books here, set at an appropriate level for your child to read. There are also quizzes about the book. I can see who has read books and upload more as needed.
Reading to your child – this gives you the opportunity to help develop your child’s reading comprehension skills. Ask them to interrupt if they don’t know the meaning of a word (or if they think a younger sibling won’t know it). Stop the story and see if they can guess what happens next, ask them why they think that.
